Ozplore

Terms of Use

Last updated: 14 August 2026

Draft — to be reviewed by a lawyer before public release.

1. Acceptance

By using Ozplore, you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the app.

2. What Ozplore is

Ozplore is a free app for discovering and "collecting" iconic Australian places as digital stamps on a road-trip passport. It is for entertainment and general information. It is not a navigation, safety, or emergency service (see the Safety Notice).

3. Your account

You're responsible for activity under your account and for keeping your sign-in secure. Choose a display name that isn't offensive, misleading, or a violation of someone else's rights. We may suspend accounts that break these Terms.

4. Collecting stamps

Ozplore lets you check in via GPS when you're at a place, or claim places you've genuinely visited. Please be honest — the passport is yours, and false claims undermine the experience. Points, ranks and leaderboards are for fun and have no monetary value.

5. Community suggestions

If you suggest a place, you confirm the information is accurate to the best of your knowledge and that you have the right to share it. We may review, edit, approve, reject, or remove suggestions at our discretion. By submitting, you grant us a licence to use your suggestion within Ozplore (including displaying the place and, if you opt in, crediting your display name). Don't submit anything unlawful, offensive, or that infringes others' rights.

6. Acceptable use

Don't misuse Ozplore. In particular, don't: break the law; harass or harm others; submit false or harmful content; attempt to hack, disrupt, or reverse-engineer the app; or use it in a way that endangers yourself or others (for example, interacting with the app while driving).

7. Content and accuracy

We curate places with care, but we can't guarantee that every location, coordinate, description, opening time, or detail is accurate or current. Places may be on private land, closed, seasonal, or dangerous to access. Always check locally and use your own judgement.

8. Intellectual property

Ozplore, its content, branding and design are owned by us or our licensors. You may use the app for personal, non-commercial enjoyment. You may not copy, resell, or commercially exploit the app or its content without permission.

9. Third-party services

Ozplore links to and relies on third-party services (such as Google Maps for directions). We're not responsible for those services; their terms and policies apply to your use of them.

10. Disclaimers

Ozplore is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, to the fullest extent permitted by law. We don't warrant that the app will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that content is accurate or complete.

11. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential loss, or for any loss or harm arising from your use of the app, your travel to any location, reliance on any content, or your interactions with third parties or third-party services. Nothing in these Terms excludes rights you have under the Australian Consumer Law that cannot lawfully be excluded.

12. Travel and safety

You are solely responsible for your own safety and decisions when travelling. See the Safety Notice, which forms part of these Terms.

13. Changes

We may update the app and these Terms. Continued use after changes means you accept the updated Terms.

14. Termination

You can stop using Ozplore any time. We may suspend or end access if you break these Terms.

15. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of New South Wales, Australia, and you submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of its courts.
